Justin Kluivert (24) will make the final switch to Bournemouth, the club has confirmed. With a scribble under a five-year contract, the former Ajax player, who comes over from AS Roma, is already going to work in the sixth (top) competition.
The deal, which will yield Roma eleven to twelve million, has been in the air for some time. A breakthrough in the negotiations took place in recent days, after which Kluivert flew to England. There he underwent medical tests on Thursday.
At Bournemouth, which finished fifteenth in the Premier League, Kluivert then signed a contract until mid-2028. This means that the two-time international who broke through at Ajax in 2017 can also tick off the five largest European competitions. Kluivert switched to AS Roma a year later, which has successively rented him out to Nice (Ligue 1), RB Leipzig (Bundesliga) and Valencia (La Liga) in recent years.
In addition to the fact that it is now a permanent transfer, Kluivert also insisted on being transferred early in the spring, so that he can also participate in the preparation for the new season at his new club.
Fourth player
It is still a while to wait for his debut in the Premier League (possibly on August 12 against West Ham United), but Kluivert will then become the fourth player to play in Europe’s five largest leagues. The Romanian striker Florin Raducioiu, the Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen and the Montenegrin attacker Stevan Jovetic already preceded Kluivert.
