Bottom of the Premier League FC Southampton are relying on the Spanish ex-soccer player Rubén Sellés as team manager until the end of the season.
The Spaniard was last hired as interim coach after Nathan Jones was fired and is now tasked with preventing the fall from the first English football league into the championship. The Saints are three points short of the saving bank.
Jones, who was brought in as the successor to former Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhüttl in November, was fired in mid-February after three months in office. In the only game under Sellés so far, Southampton won 1-0 at Chelsea last weekend. On Saturday there is an enormously important game at Leeds United, second in the table.
