With his strong performances at the Ice Hockey World Championships in Finland, national player Kai Wissmann has earned a contract with the NHL club Boston Bruins.
The defender from the German champions Eisbären Berlin will receive a one-year entry level contract from the six-time Stanley Cup winner. The Bruins announced on Tuesday.
The 25-year-old from Villingen-Schwenningen, who had two goals and five assists at the World Cup, will receive $825,000.
For the Eisbären, with whom he successfully defended the title in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) this year, Wissman scored 20 points (4 goals, 16 assists) in 55 main round appearances. They added seven (1 goal, 6 assists) in the playoffs.
