Boston basketball players first to second round NBA playoffs

The Boston Celtics are the first team to reach the second round of the NBA playoffs. Boston dealt with Brooklyn Nets surprisingly easily by also winning the fourth game. In New York it was 116-112, which decided the best-of-seven series.

Brooklyn had concluded the regular season in the Eastern Conference in seventh place, partly due to the presence of stars such as Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, the team was still considered a title candidate. Durant’s 39 points were not enough to force a fifth game. Jayson Tatum was the Celtics’ top scorer with 29 points. In the next round, Boston will face defending champions Milwaukee Bucks or Chicago Bulls. The Bucks lead 3-1 in that match.
