The new Hertha President Kay Bernstein (41) is currently with his family in the seaside resort of Ahlbeck on the Baltic Sea island of Usedom. But for his other great love, Hertha BSC, the new maker will now interrupt his vacation.

Bernstein will open the big fan festival for Hertha’s 130th club birthday at the Berlin Olympic Park with a speech at 11 a.m. on Saturday. Bernstein to BZ: “Yes, I will interrupt my vacation to celebrate Hertha’s 130th birthday.” With a wink, he adds: “Much to my wife’s delight…”

And then she has to do without the president and her little daughter (1) again. Bernstein reveals: “Of course, I’m also going to Braunschweig for the cup game on Sunday before I return to my family on vacation in the Baltic Sea.”

BZ learned: The new boss has now asked all members of the presidium to be present at the next two away games in Braunschweig and at Union in the stadium. That has not been the case in the past.

Amber: Yes, that’s right! Those who can and have time at the start should travel to Braunschweig and Köpenick. We want to act as a united body there. That brings color to the grandstand.”

By the way: Bernstein’s vacation ends on Wednesday on Usedom – in the early evening there is a presidency meeting in Berlin …
