Good news at the start of preparations: soccer professional Stefan Lainer from Borussia Mönchengladbach is back on the pitch after recovering from cancer.
The 31-year-old was in Gladbach’s starting line-up in the friendly against the Go Ahead Eagles Deventer (4×30 minutes) on Saturday and immediately prepared a goal.
During the summer preparation, the Austrian right-back was diagnosed with lymph node cancer. In November, Lainer returned to training after his treatment and now made his first appearance.
