Mönchengladbach (dpa) – Bundesliga soccer club Borussia Mönchengladbach has launched a fundraising campaign for Ukraine and is symbolically giving one euro to an aid organization for each club member.

“We currently have 94,269 members and we give one euro per member, i.e. 94,269 euros,” said Borussia’s managing director Stephan Schippers. “All fans, friends and members of Borussia who would like to support this campaign are cordially invited to make a donation and increase the total amount that the entire Borussia family has been able to raise,” said Schippers.

In addition, donations will be collected around the stadium at the next home game against Hertha BSC on March 12. The team’s warm-up clothing with the message “Stop War” will be auctioned off and the proceeds will also go to the donation account.
