The Getafe coach completed his two hundred games in LaLiga with a victory against Alavés

The coach from Alicante managed to get his teams to score in close to 70% of the matches

200 games in the First Division. It is the mark that the Getafe CF coach has just achieved, Jose Bordalas, after leading his team in the win against Alavés (1-0) last Monday at the Coliseum.

This achievement comes before visiting the newly remodeled Santiago Bernabéu, where they will face Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid the day after tomorrow. Precisely the Italian praised his colleague a few days ago: “I like BordalásHe is one of the coaches who is capable of motivating the players, I met him and he is very nice and I like his way of motivating the team.”

In those two hundred games, the coach from Alicante accumulates more victories (68) than defeats (67) and has managed to get his teams to score in practically 70% of the matches.

In the League he has directed a total of 100 games, 162 with Getafe and 38 with Valencia with a record of 68 wins, 65 draws and 67 losses.

As far as goals are concerned, despite being considered a more defensive than offensive coach, he has scored more goals for than against, 215 for and 208 against. In total he has managed to add 269 points, which makes him have a record of 1.35 points per game.

His best classification in the league was in the 2018-19 season, remaining in a creditable 5th place with 59 points. A fact that becomes more relevant considering that Bordalás arrived at Getafe for the first time in 2016, with the team on the verge of Second B. He managed to save himself, was promoted the following year and got that fifth place that made the team get into in Europe, the best classification also in the history of the azulón club.

Some of the players he has made debut in the First Division are Hugo Duro, Mathias Olivera, Mamardashvili, Ndiaye, Arambarri, the world champion goalkeeper’Dibu’ Martinez, or his players still today Djené and Jaime Mata, who by the way made his debut for the Spanish National Team under his orders. Among his main victims are the coaches Arrasate, whom he has managed to beat on 6 occasions (6V 3E 2D), Quique Setién (6V 2E 3D) and Asier Garitano (5V 3E 2D).

Outside of the domestic competition, he reached the Cup final in 2022 against Betis where only the penalty shootout deprived him of being the first Valencian (Valencian Community) to win the Cup in 103 years. This has been his first final as a coach after almost 30 years on the bench and despite having fallen cruelly he was praised by another teammate on the bench, Robert Martinez, who in the broadcast of the game congratulated him “for the approach and the way in which the team has grown…& rdquor;, highlighting “the intensity that has been very reminiscent of British football& rdquor;.

Against Real Madrid, Bordalás will try to start the new hundred games by bringing another joy to the Getafe fans.
