Bootsea festival organizes fourth edition in Ostend
On September 22, 2022, the fourth edition of boat sea festival takes place in the Wellnington Hippodrome in Ostend. Festival visitors from Belgium and the Netherlands come together with their friends and accompanists to enjoy DJs and artists. CAMILLE, Guga Baul, Kobe Ilsen & Viktor Verhulst, DJ Jack, De Bromeo’s, De Bobby’s and Michael Schack, among others, have already committed. A funfair, a silent disco, a chill zone, a cocktail bar, fun fringe entertainment and delicious catering are also provided.
Crowdfunding campaign
With the Bootsea festival, Briek Vrije Tijd and VZW Duinhelm want to introduce people with intellectual disabilities to international DJs and musicians. “The step to music festivals in the regular circuit is often too big for many of them. The roof of the Wellington Racecourse must and will come off,” says a shipper Hina Bhatti.
“A ticket costs 20 euros, but it remains financially difficult for young people to participate in this unique event. Special education schools are also bound by the maximum invoice, so it is not easy to purchase a ticket.” That is why Briek vzw collects through a crowdfunding money for 800 tickets that are donated to young people from the target group concerned via the schools for special secondary education and VAPH recognized organizations. The city of Ostend leads by example and buys 350 tickets.
