Booster vaccine needed for valid Covid Safe Ticket | Instagram VTM NEWS

In order to maintain the validity of the Covid Safe Ticket, it is mandatory to have received a booster vaccine from 1 March. There should be no more than 150 days between the second dose and the booster vaccine, Prime Minister Alexander De Croo (Open Vld) announced this evening during the press conference after the Consultation Committee.

In concrete terms, this means that people who received their last shot before October 1 must receive a booster before March 1 to keep a valid Covid Safe Ticket (CST). “Let’s be clear, every additional vaccination gives us additional freedom,” says De Croo. “That translates through the CST. That is an important instrument with which we can maintain social life in the safest possible way.”

Flemish Prime Minister Jan Jambon (N-VA) also emphasizes that the CST is an important means of motivating people to get vaccinated. Before the end of January, every Flemish person is invited for a booster. Those who missed their appointment in recent weeks will have the opportunity to get vaccinated.

However, all this does not mean that the CST will always be there, says De Croo. “If we see after omikron that the infections have stabilized and that the situation in our hospitals has stabilized, then we will review the use of the CST and let it be clear: we will not use this type of certificate for a day too long. ”

“In phase yellow, no CST is needed anymore,” Jambon adds. In the coming weeks, parliaments will consider the circumstances in which the CST is useful and not useful. Ultimately, the Consultation Committee will then make decisions about this.
