Bookcity 2023: iO Donna’s appointments and heroine

Dreturns from November 13th to 19th BookCity Milan, the festival dedicated to books and reading that involves the whole city. Meetings with authors, dialogues and special guests scattered throughout the city space, including clubs, galleries and the San Vittore prisonto bring culture even to less traditional places.

Books, how are Italians' reading habits changing?

At BookCity you dream

The theme of the 2023 event will be Dream time, a word that evokes thoughts and desires, hopes, escapes and battles, nightmares and fears. Dreams have influenced artists and thinkers, writers and philosophers of all time, populating many works of literature, therefore they will be expressed in many ways in the formidable quantity of events (impossible to list them, but on the site bookcitymilano.it they are all there): from the dream of the future to that of political passion, from the dream of Ulysses to the opposite of the dream, the nightmare, which runs through our crime news.

The inaugural event of BookCity Milano 2023 will be held on Wednesday 15 November at 8pm at the Teatro Dal Verme: the evening will have the Turkish writer as its protagonist Orhan Pamuk, Nobel Prize for Literature 2006which highlighted the facets of the relationship between East and West and which will receive the City Seal by the mayor Giuseppe Sala.

Building on its great success, the event expands and, after Lodi, focuses its attention on Cremona, offering a schedule of meetings and presentations, musical events and dialogues in the Lombard city, from Wednesday 15 November to Sunday 19 November. The program is also rich in the Lombard city, starting with a series of meetings entitled “Changing, city. Living, habits”, edited by Stefano Bartezzaghi. Among the many interventions is that of Laura Pigozzi, a Lacanian psychoanalyst who invites us to focus on the generational aspects of these transformations. Info and reservations: bookcitymilano.it
