Netflix prices keep going up. With a trick, however, you can get the subscription for less money.
Until a few years ago, a Netflix subscription was still possible using the Apple ID. This made it possible to pay for the subscription with credit cards for the App Store and iTunes. Since these cards are often available at reduced prices as part of discount campaigns, you could practically get Netflix at a bargain price. Netflix now calculates membership outside of Apple’s payment processing on its own website. The prepaid card trick no longer works – with one exception.

Netflix has also been offering free games since the end of last year, provided there is an active subscription. However, users must download these games from the Apple App Store. Since the company does not allow alternative payment methods for games from the App Store, these must be billed via Apple itself. So it is enough to download one of the available Netflix games from the store. When the app starts, users are prompted to log in or register. In both cases, users can subscribe directly in the app and use their Apple ID to pay.

It is irrelevant whether a new or unused, existing Netflix account is used. In both cases, Netflix calculates the subscription price also in the future via the Apple payment system. This makes it possible again to save money on the Netflix subscription with cheaply purchased Apple credit cards.
The only restriction: when subscribing to a Netflix game from the App Store, users cannot choose the subscription level. Only the standard level is available for 12.99 euros per month. This gives HD resolution and two simultaneous streams. Basic and premium subscriptions are not available.
This is how the credit card trick works
1. Download a Netflix game, such as Stranger Things: 1984, from the Apple App Store.
2. Start the app and click in the “Welcome” window further.
3. Sign in with an existing, inactive Netflix account or register a new account.
4. Click Begin membership for a fee.
5. A payment window will now appear in which you can confirm the subscription via Face ID, Touch ID or password.
