There will be a book about the disappearance of 15-year-old Willeke Dost from Koekange. More than 30 years after her disappearance, the book by writers Jürgen Snoeren and Marja West must be published. Next summer the book ‘The mysterious disappearance of Willeke Dost: How a village in Drenthe was torn apart’ will be available in stores.
In January 1992 Willeke Dost disappeared. It is still unclear to this day what exactly happened to her. “I came to live in Drenthe in 1997,” says writer Marja West. “It caused quite a stir and the disappearance intrigued me enormously.”
Willeke Dost was never heard from again, so it was thought for a while that she might have run away. “It remains a mystery,” says West. “I also have my thought, but that remains a thought for now. I’m only at the beginning of writing. Don’t want to point my fingers. Have seen the police file and there are no indications in it that indicate that she ran away.”
