Boohoo Group Plc agrees to settlement following consumer fraud lawsuit

Boohoo Group Plc has agreed to a settlement after the online fashion retailer was sued for misleading consumers. The company announced this on Tuesday.

The fashion group was sued in the US state of California last year. According to the plaintiffs, Boohoo Group Plc had increased the prices of a number of items prior to a sales promotion, making the final discounts appear higher than they actually were.

Earlier in November, Boohoo Group Plc had already signaled its willingness to agree to a payment of US$26.1 million (equivalent to US$24.4 million). The statement said the final agreement was “in line with the guidelines set out on November 4”. The settlement is subject to approval by the District Court of California.
