In an exclusive interview with Mediaset, the former Juventus captain tells the background of his farewell
A farewell to the endless poison, an anger that does not subside. “I have read and heard untrue things said by Juventus and the coach (Allegri, ed). It is false that in October and February I was informed of the intention to terminate the relationship at the end of the season. Indeed, at the end of May I had given my availability to be the fifth/sixth choice in defence, to be the mother hen”: thus Leonardo Bonucci from Berlin in an exclusive interview given to Mediaset.
And then again: “I smelled something – continued Bonucci – just by reading it in the newspapers, until on 13 July Giuntoli and Manna informed me, coming to my house, that I would no longer be part of the Juventus squad and that my presence on the pitch would have hindered the growth of the team. This was the humiliation I suffered after 500-odd matches in black and white. I appreciated the solidarity of many players, including current ones, from Juventus and other clubs. Everyone showed me their their sympathy for the company’s disrespectful behavior”.
