European soccer champion Leonardo Bonucci has admitted initial doubts about his move to Union Berlin. “When Union called me, I was unsure at the beginning,” said the 36-year-old at a press conference on Tuesday: “It’s a big change in my career and in my life.”
It was particularly difficult to leave the family behind in Turin for the time being. “I’m very happy now,” said the central defender, who still feels “like a tourist” when he walks through the city.
In terms of sport, Bonucci thinks positively despite the series of four defeats in a row. “We have a very good chance of getting through the group stage,” said the Italian, who made his debut in the last-minute defeat against Real Madrid on matchday one of the Champions League.
