Bonobo Zamba enjoys two hours of freedom in Planckendael… until caretakers wave a banana | Inland

Zamba (24) had enough of his bonobo island in Zoo Planckendael on Friday morning. He escaped and entrenched himself in a tree nearby. Caregivers were able to seduce him with a banana with anesthetic, after which he was caught two hours later. Escape king Zamba was not ready for his test piece. The zoo was evacuated as a precaution. “Bonobos are quite small, but have enormous power,” says biologist Dirk Draulans.
