Bono comes to Berlin to read from his memoirs. The U2 singer will release the 600-page Surrender: 40 Songs, One Story on November 1st. On November 23, Bono reads from the book in Berlin’s Admiralspalast.

The performance is part of a worldwide book tour entitled “Stories of Surrender”, which will take Bono across the USA and also to Paris and London, among other places. Tickets are available from Friday October 7th at 10am here available in advance. A copy of the book is included in the ticket.

Tickets are limited to two tickets per person. In addition, these are so-called “mobile phone-free” shows. Visitors must therefore stow their mobile phones in lockable bags from Yondr when entering.

“I miss being on stage and being close to the U2 audience,” Bono said of the book tour. “In these shows I have some stories to sing and some songs to tell… Also, I want to have fun presenting my me-moir SURRENDER, which is actually more of a WE-moir when I think of all the people that I helped to get from there to here.”

Here you can listen to an excerpt of the memoir – read by Bono himself.

The book title refers to the 40 U2 songs that the chapters are named after. In addition, 40 original drawings by Bono are printed in the book. A German translation will appear at the same time on November 1st, entitled “Surrender: 40 songs, one story”. In the memoir, Bono not only writes about the rise of U2, but also personal stories such as his mother’s untimely death when he was 14.
