Bonn keeps a clean slate in the BBL

Alongside Alba Berlin, Telekom Baskets Bonn remain the only undefeated team in the German Basketball League.

The Rhinelanders won 98:65 (50:28) against the MLP Academics Heidelberg and, thanks to the better point difference, pushed Berlin from first place in the table.

Bonn’s head coach Tuomas Iisalo won against his younger brother Joonas Iisalo, who has been in charge of Heidelberg since this season and has assisted his brother for the past two years.

The Bonners hit their first nine shots from the field, already had a double-digit lead in the middle of the first quarter and dominated the first ten minutes with 30:13. From then on, the hosts controlled the game and were up to 38 points ahead in the third quarter.

With a 99:93 (45:47) away win after extra time at ratiopharm Ulm, the Niners Chemnitz won their third competitive game in a row. Only in the 38th minute did the guests take the lead for the first time through Wes Clark (17 points), who scored two three-pointers in extra time. With 18 converted distance throws, the Chemnitz set a BBL season record.

The BG Göttingen prevailed at home with 82:74 (44:42) against the Würzburg Baskets. Till Pape set a career high with 22 points and hit the game-winning basket one minute before the end. With 119:102 (67:46) the Hakro Merlins Crailsheim dominated the Syntainics MBC from Weißenfels. Jaren Lewis scored 20 of his 32 points in the first half.
