After the Saxons had dominated the third quarter with 32:16 and turned the game around, the guests came back with a strong defense in the fourth period. Nick Weiler-Babb led Bayern with 19 points.
The people of Bonn prevailed in Hamburg with 95:88 (48:54). As in the first two games, the Bonn team caught up from a half-time deficit, Parker Jackson-Cartwright dominated again: The most valuable player of the season scored eleven of his 31 points in the last four minutes and threw his team to victory with the decisive three-pointer. For the first time since 2009, Bonn is in the playoff semifinals.
On Thursday, Alba Berlin and the MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg had already reached the semi-finals without defeat. Thus, for the first time since the 1988/89 season, all four quarter-final series of the BBL have been decided by “sweep” (3:0). At that time, however, two wins were enough to advance.
