Ursula Andress in a white bikini, who emerges from the sea with a confident look: This scene from “James Bond: 007 chases Dr. No” left a lasting mark on the Bond series and naturally made the actress a film icon. She was followed by numerous Bond girls, but not all of them are likely to be remembered.

Andress has repeatedly been voted the most popular Bond girl in polls (most recently by “Empire”). But for the 86-year-old, it’s all pretty much worthless. And quite literally. Andress is angry with the series’ producers because she feels cheated of her well-earned wages.

In an interview with “Bild” she said: “I don’t want to talk about Bond anymore. I’m disappointed and above all angry at the Bond makers. They’ve made millions through me for decades. But I never got any recognition. No thanks, not an extra cent, not even a bouquet of flowers.”

Ursula Andress was born in Switzerland and now lives in Rome

The actress earned about $10,000 for her role as Honey Ryder in 1962. A paltry credit considering the film grossed $60 million and became a hit that launched the long-lived series and remains one of the most profitable to date.

Andress sees her performance as completely misjudged: “Sean and I played great back then. If the first Bond hadn’t been a success, there wouldn’t have been another film. I know Sean felt the same way.”

She thanks the fans for the great recognition over the years. But: “I’m tired of Bond and don’t want to deal with it any further.”
