Bomb threat to Manchester United defender Maguire

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has received a bomb threat at his home in Cheshire. The police said they searched the England international’s home, but have not found anything so far.

“There is nevertheless a serious threat,” said a spokesperson for the family. “For Harry, only the safety of his family is important at the moment.” The defender lives in the house with his fiancée and two children. He would have received the threat via email.

On Tuesday, Manchester United, which has now officially confirmed the arrival of coach Erik ten Hag, lost a chance (4-0) to Liverpool. The players, who are having a disappointing season, are therefore the target of criticism from their own supporters.

Police do not yet know who is behind the bomb threat.
