Bomb threat at Ostend airport: sweeping yields nothing…

Ostend airport was evacuated following a threatening email to various airports. Several airports in France have also been evacuated. There were no passengers present in Ostend, but about fifty airport employees had to leave the building. The control tower was also evacuated, meaning that no aircraft could land or take off. The airport was then thoroughly searched by security services and explosives dogs.

Due to the bomb threats at French airports, a flight from Lille to Ostend was diverted. The passengers of that plane, about 150 people, had to remain on the plane during the search.
