Denso Kasius goes to work at Bologna. The talented right back, who is rented from FC Utrecht by FC Volendam for a year and a half, immediately makes the switch to Italy. Volendam will be compensated with part of the transfer fee.
The Italian club deposits an amount of around three million euros for the 19-year-old back. Because Volendam has been renting the player from the Domstedelingen since last winter, the leader in the first division also gets a share.
“The rental of Denso with a term of one and a half season was a conscious choice at the time, based on the assessment of his talent and our vision and experience in talent development,” says technical director Jasper van Leeuwen. “This has worked out very well at Denso and he has clearly blossomed here.”
“In our view, this process was not yet completely completed,” Van Leeuwen continues. “And more importantly: we are and remain convinced that Denso would be in much better shape next summer, also in terms of career choices. We have been able to discuss all this openly in recent months, but now a point has come that FC Utrecht and Denso make a different choice in that. We have to respect that, although it is a big loss for Volendam.”
Bayern Munich
Last-minute Bayern Munich tried to steal Kasius from Bologna. According to various sources, a private jet to Munich was waiting, but the player and his management believed in the Bologna story. At the club from the Serie A, Kasius signs a contract until mid-2026. At Bologna, Kasius will join a team that includes Mitchell Dijks from Purmerend and former Telstar player Jerdy Schouten.
