“You’ve been waiting, we’ve been waiting and now we’re excited to finally announce last year’s rescheduled tour dates with the addition of Finland, Poland, Denmark and Sweden. We’re also excited to have the mighty Planet Of Zeus on board for a European co-headline tour!” – BOKASSA
The Norwegian power trio Bokassa merges riffs and grooves from stoner rock and metal with catchy punk rock into their self-described stoner punk. Bokassa have played at some of Norway’s biggest festivals (Øya, Stavern, Pstereo, Malakoff etc.) and toured all over Europe and Norway. In 2019 they were chosen by Lars Ulrich to support Metallica alongside Ghost on their summer stadium tour of Europe, UK and Russia. The legendary drummer dubbed them “his new favorite band” and described them as “insanely fucking cool” after hearing the trio Divide & Conquer’s debut album.
Their wild debut album was also acclaimed by critics around the world and made it onto several “Best of” lists of 2017. Metal Hammer UK named the album as one of the best debuts of 2017 and included it in their Top 100 Albums of the Same year on. Their second album Crimson Riders followed in 2019 and in 2020 they released the digital EP Live At The BBC from their BBC Radio 1 Live session at London’s legendary Maida Vale Studio, which was nominated for a Norwegian Grammy for Breakthrough of the Year.
In 2021 won Bokassa the Norwegian Bendiksprisen award and released their third album Molotov Rocktail on Napalm Records. The album peaked at number 18 on the Norwegian Albums Chart. The album received praise from Kerrang, Rock Hard, Distorted Sound, Powerplay Magazine, Adresseavis and Metal Hammer, among others. The latter said of the band’s third work: “With such eminent replay value, Molotov Rocktail threatens to burst the bubble that separates ‘classic-sounding’ records from straight-up classics, while easily delivering the most fun stoner record since Monster Magnet’s Powertrip.”
