The Munich fashion company Willy Bogner GmbH & Co. KGaA is back on course for growth.
In the 2021/22 financial year, which ended in March, sales reached EUR 166.3 million and were 36 percent above the previous year. Revenues thus exceeded the pre-pandemic level of EUR 163 million in the 2019/20 financial year, a year earlier than planned.
Result above expectations
“The result significantly exceeds our own expectations,” said Gerrit Schneider, Co-CEO of Bogner in a statement on Wednesday. “We are more efficient and leaner, debt-free and have the right strategy to continue on our sustainable growth path.”
According to Bogner, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of 19.4 million euros have already exceeded their own forecasts. Earnings before interest and taxes were 11 million euros.
Strong wholesale and digital business
Bogner attributes its good results to the growth of the two brands Bogner and Fire+Ice in all regions and channels. In the wholesale business, sales grew by 40 percent compared to the previous year. The digital division showed high single-digit growth. Together, digital and wholesale accounted for around 70% of total sales in the 2021/22 financial year.
Plans until 2023
For the 2022/23 financial year, Bogner wants to continue the growth of the company, especially in wholesale and in the digital online area. For digital success, Bogner invests specifically in advertising on social media and in display advertising.
According to the Munich-based fashion company, sales of the 2022 autumn/winter collection are going well. With sales figures of almost 20 percent, the pre-order results are already up on the previous year.
