Boezinge kills Blankenberge
It was another exciting last day of play in the first provincial, as there were still a few teams that could go straight to the national series, due to the disappearance of a number of teams. Wielsbeke was already certain, Roeselare-Daisel as good as, but then there were Blankenberge, Rumbeke and Wervik. The latter two faced each other in a direct duel. Blankenberge had enough of a draw, but still wanted to win.
But against Boezinge, Steve Swaenepoel’s team has nothing to say. They run after an elusive ball, and swallow a beautiful goal from Selmani. Fortunately, they can count on a fantastic free kick from Gianni Longueville. 1-1 is the score at halftime.
But Boezinge remains the better team, with a dominant midfield. Brogniez sends Boone deep, Vlieghe can simply tap in for goal. Blankenberge then opts for power play, Boezinge for the counter, but neither team can score. For example, Boezinge can go to the final round, and Blankenberge has to go to the final round. Wervik is the smiling third, they can go straight to the third amateur. Tomorrow there will be the draw for the interprovincial final round.
