Vivian LP, who acted as a bodyguard for rapper Lil Kleine and criminals from Amsterdam, is suspected of importing 100 kilos of cocaine, trafficking in another 40 kilos of cocaine and laundering more than 1.5 million euros in drug money. The man came into the picture during the investigation into the fugitive ‘Bolle Jos’. This became apparent during an introductory hearing on Friday afternoon.
‘Bolle Jos’ refers to the fugitive drug criminal Jos Leijdekkers. He is currently at the top of the national wanted list and an international manhunt is underway for him. The police intelligence service received two tips, which allegedly showed that LP is in contact with Leijdekkers.
In addition, the investigation team received information from Belgian colleagues, which would show that LP would maintain contact with the Belgian criminal Flor B. – nickname: ‘The Finger Cutter’. He in turn is known as a business partner of Bolle Jos. Flor B. is the main suspect in a major Belgian drug case and is in prison there.
After receiving this information, investigators started an investigation and were also able to draw on messages from the encrypted messaging service Sky ECC. According to the public prosecutor, LP would have used these encrypted telephones, which were often used in organized crime. This subsequently showed that LP was involved in importing cocaine from South America, transporting the drugs and laundering a lot of cash from drug trafficking. A total of more than 1.5 million euros.
‘It did bring us this case’
“Of course, research has been done into the contacts between LP and Bolle Jos. We have not been able to confirm that,” said the prosecutor. According to him, there are Sky chats between Flor B. and LP in which ‘Bolle’ and ‘Hilly’ are discussed; two well-known nicknames of the fugitive Bolle Jos. “It did not get us any further in the search for Bolle Jos. It did give us this case about the import of cocaine and money laundering.”
LP was arrested by an arrest team in October 2023 in his home in an apartment complex in Eindhoven. His home was searched, as was a warehouse near Nuenen. During those searches, police seized four encrypted phones, as well as three luxury watches. In the past, Flor B. is said to have stayed in the same apartment complex where LP lives.
In the recent past, LP emerged as the bodyguard of rapper Lil Kleine. During that period, the rapper became known several times with the ‘beer shower’ phenomenon. During performances he was regularly pelted with cups of beer from the audience. Images circulating on social media show the bodyguard appearing on the scene and making it clear to the public that such behavior would not be tolerated. He also once punched someone from the audience. He was prosecuted for this, but also acquitted.
‘I used a Sky device, but not for criminal offences’
Lawyer Nancy Dekens of LP stated that the contacts between her client and Bolle Jos ‘sound exciting’, but are not true. “It is nice that the public prosecutor has now established this.” She criticized the fact that her client’s name has now been linked to serious criminals. This while he has a successful company in the entertainment industry. LP also spoke himself. “I have indeed used Sky devices, but I have not committed any criminal offences.”
Lawyer Dekens asked the court to give the Public Prosecution Service more information about how the investigation into her client started. She also asked to question some witnesses, including Flor B. It is not yet known when the substantive hearing will take place.
