The 45-year-old man from Leiden did not return after a walk. A police spokesman has confirmed his identity. The man was not killed as a result of a crime, police said.
The family has already been informed of the fact that it concerns the 45-year-old man from Leiden. The victim was on vacation on Curaçao with his family. On Tuesday he went hiking alone in the area of Playa Jeremi and the Christoffelberg, but did not return to his family.
An extensive search for the man has been going on since Wednesday. The police worked together with various organizations, including the Ministry of Defense. A police spokesperson said the search area was large and difficult to investigate.
Concerns about the tourist were great, as he only had a liter of water with him. Police released two photos and asked anyone with relevant information to come forward.
