Body found in Kiel-Windeweer belongs to 38-year-old man from Roermond

The man who was found on Monday in a building in Kiel-Windeweer, just across the border at Zuidlaarderveen, belongs to a 38-year-old man from Roermond. It concerns Tess Abels, the police report.

He grew up in the Roermond area, but had no fixed place of residence. The last contact between Tess and his family was in the last weeks of July. His body was found on Monday on a site on the Nieuwe Compagnie, a few kilometers from the Drents-Groningen provincial border.

Drug waste was found there on Sunday. It turned out to be a drug lab at that location, which has been in operation. As a result, two people were arrested: a 68-year-old man and a 65-year-old woman from the municipality of Midden-Groningen. They’re still stuck.

Police are still investigating what happened. Among other things, it is examined whether there is a connection between the drug lab and the victim. A Large-Scale Investigation Team has also been launched. The police take several scenarios into account. Police have now shared the victim’s name and photo, “hoping that people will recognize him and share information with us.”
