Body fisherman Bruges: “Fumbled in water himself”

On Sunday morning, divers retrieved the lifeless body of a 37-year-old fisherman from the Ringvaart in Bruges, near the Krakelebrug. It is believed the man fell into the water on Saturday night.

“We received a report from people who saw fishing material but no fisherman,” says Lien Depoorter of the Bruges police.

Passers-by became concerned and alerted the emergency services. The victim is a man who was born in the year 1986 and who was probably fishing last night at the Vlotkom of the Ringvaart.

After investigation, it turns out that the man himself fell into the water.
