In San Giovanni in Persiceto celebration for the Venetians in men’s Serie A, the Emilians in women’s A (bis of 2022) and the Lombards among the juniors

The Venetians of Nova Inox Vigasio Villafranca (men’s A series), the Emilians of TREM Osteria Grande Castel San Pietro (women’s A series) and the Lombards of Canottieri Flora Cremona (juniors) are the queen clubs of Raffa 2023. The three teams won the championship in the respective categories, at the end of the tricolor final four of San Giovanni in Persiceto, organized by the Bocciofila Persicetana and by the FIB Emilia Romagna, under the aegis of the Italian Bocce Federation.

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS KO

The tricolor weekend was closed by the men’s Serie A final, which saw the Veronese team of Vigasio Villafranca beat the holders of the title, as well as European champions, of Caccialanza Milano. Nothing to do for the Lombards with the 4-0 with which the new Italian champions closed the first round. In the second part of the match, Caccialanza reacted timidly with the victory of a pair, but Vigasio immediately won the fifth set, stitching the 2023 championship to her chest and earning qualification for the final of the Italian Super Cup, scheduled for January 2024 against the winner of the Italian Club Cup next December. The Italian club title was won by the athletes Gaetano Miloro, Gianluca Formicone, Alfonso Nanni, Gianluca Monaldi, Giacomo Lorenzini and Umberto Campagnuolo, directed by the coach Massimo Nicolini and followed by the manager Marco Mannini. On the eve of the championship final, Vigasio had overtaken the Piedmontese team of Possaccio in shooting range; while, Caccialanza had won 5-1 over the Venetians of Giorgione 3villese. Bronze medal, therefore, for Possaccio and Giorgione.

The finals of San Giovanni in Persiceto had been inaugurated by the junior competition, won by Canottieri Flora Cremona on the City of Spoleto. The young players from Lombardy and Umbria created an exciting and balanced championship final. 3-3 the final result, which led to shots at the cue ball. The boys from Cremona hit seven pellets on as many shots. An en plein that allowed Canottieri Flora to redeem the defeat suffered a year earlier against Ancona 2000. The new junior Italian champions are Luca Domaneschi, Alessandro Massarini, Lorenzo Bocchio, Alessandro Minoia and Andrea Fornasari, coached by Edoardo Massarini and followed by manager Giuseppe Domaneschi. Following the entire event, returning from Belluno for the press conference to present the final four Scudetto Petanque of Cortina d’Ampezzo, the federal president Marco Giunio De Sanctis, who after thanking the president of FIB Emilia Romagna, Francesco Furlani, the president of the Persicetana, Dante Tugnetti, and the entire Local Organizing Committee, underlined how “the bowling movement is in an intense phase of activity with the dispute of the championship finals of our various specialties. The federal events, which began last May, will accompany us until next December. Our movement had remained stagnant over the years, above all from the point of view of image and communication. Today we are looking outside our world thanks to television, the press, events such as the one in Cortina d’Ampezzo next week, where for one of our big appointments we will play in our natural bed, or rather the squares. In the face of the large amount of activities of all our specialties, only the Olympic seal is missing, which would represent the turning point for the sport of bowls “. “We are working to allow our sport, like any other, to take advantage of technology. Surely the use of tools, such as the var and the chronometer, needs to be perfected. However, it was still necessary to leave”, the words of the federal president. “Experimenting always has positive implications, such as, for example, it allows the verification of any critical issues, identified in the lengthy schedule, to be streamlined, through the reduction of warm-up times, of the women’s championship tests and the elimination of the presentation ceremonies of the teams”, concluded De Sanctis. At the final four of the championship in Emilia and at the award ceremonies, several institutional and federal representatives were present: the mayor of San Giovanni in Persiceto, Lorenzo Pellegatti; the head of cabinet of the Regional Council of Emilia Romagna, Giammaria Manghi; the President of CONI Emilia Romagna, Andrea Dondi; the General Secretary of the FIB, Riccardo Milana; the FIB vicar vice-president and CER president, Moreno Rosati; the federal councilors Sergio Ripamonti and Maurizio Andreoli; the regional FIB presidents of Piedmont (Claudio Vittino), Lombardy (Moreno Volpi), Veneto (Renzo Cuzzolin), Emilia Romagna (Francesco Furlani), Marche (Corrado Tecchi), Tuscany (Giancarlo Gosti), Lazio (Flavio Stani), Abruzzo ( Gregorio Gregori) and Molise (Giuseppe Format).
