That is impossible! The document proceedings of Ex-Hertha-Manager Fredi Bobic (51) was canceled on Wednesday almost at the last second.

Reason: According to BZ information, Hertha is supposed to file a lawsuit against the responsible judge, Dr. Tobias Oelsner has submitted a request for bias.

Such a request can be made if there is a reason that justifies mistrust in the impartiality of a judge.

What exactly that means in this case has not yet been clarified. The court is now examining Hertha’s application and will announce a new court date later. Possibly with a different judge.

Bobic was first properly terminated from Hertha on January 28, 2023 and without notice two weeks later on February 10. Since then, Hertha has frozen the ex-manager’s salary.

Application for bias filed against the judge

Bobic is suing against his ordinary and immediate dismissal. Hertha had initially asked for the deadline to be postponed. A date has been set for February 19th in the district court at 11 a.m. in room 3810.

The Bobic lawyers then initiated a document process, which was now scheduled to take place much earlier on Thursday. This is only about the evidence of the document – in this case the Bobic contract at Hertha – in which a clause clearly regulates the severance payment in the event of early separation.

Accordingly, Bobic would be entitled to around 3.5 million euros for his contract with Hertha, which actually runs until June 30, 2024.

If Bobic had been successful in court, he would have had an enforcement order in his hand – and Hertha would have had to pay. The application for bias further delays the process…
