The final season of Better Call Saul premiered on Tuesday. In the course of the broadcast of the “Breaking Bad” spin-off, a special episode will also flicker across the screens – namely the episode in which the main actor Bob Odenkirk suffered a comparatively mild heart attack. As the actor announced, it will be broadcast on July 18. “The weirdest thing about it is I really can’t remember that day,” the 59-year-old told The Hollywood Reporter.
Ten days memory erased
He continued, “So I’m watching an episode that I was in that I don’t remember, that’s a rare thing. I mean, usually you look at something and remember it even if it was filmed months ago. But in this case the memory is completely gone. It’s very strange. I gotta tell you, it’s kinda weird when you’ve basically lost a week and a half. There’s nothing there, just gone. It’s a strange experience. Otherwise I’m fine.”
Odenkirk: “I feel very good”
Apparently, the American has recovered to a large extent: “I feel very good. I’m in good shape. I’m going to start training right now!” he said, adding, “I haven’t shot for five weeks. I had a five week break to recover. And then when I came back, we limited the shooting to 12-hour days… So they took care of me and I was able to pull through with the shooting.” He also hopes audiences won’t see any difference between the spots , filmed before the heart attack and those filmed after. Three quarters of the scene was shot on the day of the heart attack and the other quarter after, Odenkirk said.
