Hertha is deep in the relegation battle – and finally has to fight. “We have to accept the fight and prepare the game against Leipzig with a lot of clarity.”
After the 2-1 disgrace in Fürth, Hertha coach Tayfun Korkut (47) demanded more commitment and passion from his team – and he finally got to see and hear that from his team on Tuesday at Schenckendorffplatz.
Bang training at Hertha!
Korkut had the pros compete in ten against ten for three small goals each. The requirement: few ball contacts, quick combinations, side shifts.
An intensive unit – not only on the ball. After a few minutes, Prince Boateng (34) suddenly buttoned teammate Myziane Maolida (23).
Apparently, Boateng had previously warned the French not to lose the ball, Maolida then just waved him off – Leitwolf Boateng didn’t like that at all. His message to Maolida: “Don’t do that to me!”
Marco Richter (24) also received an announcement later – from Coach Korkut.
The ambitious judge was not satisfied with his performance and that of his teammates. He said that again and again – until Korkut interrupted the training and called out to the right winger: “If you don’t feel like it, you go out. At some point it will be over, concentrate on your game.”
That’s what Richter did, turned it up, created danger in front of the mini-gates. During a drinking break, striker coach Vedad Ibisevic (37) comforted him.
