BNNVARA is in mourning after the gigantic victory of the PVV in the elections. Management invites the entire staff, including all stars, to meet at 4:30 p.m.
There is a terrible atmosphere at BNNVARA now that Khalid & Sophie’s broadcaster is confronted with a huge election win by Geert Wilders. Lonneke van der Zee, the general director of the broadcaster, sent an email to all colleagues this morning in which she appeared completely dejected.
Dark morning
It is a disaster for the Netherlands and humanity in general, says Lonneke. “Dear colleagues, it is a dark morning,” it begins.
She continues: “Yesterday, a party was elected with an overwhelming majority that adopted a so-called ‘moderate tone’ during election time, but which does want to stop climate policy, sees Dutch people with an Islamic background as second-class citizens, wants the Netherlands out of the EU and the independent wants to cancel public broadcasting.”
4:30 PM
Lonneke is extremely worried. “Many positions of the PVV go against everything BNNVARA stands for and pose a direct threat to our rule of law and society. I personally didn’t sleep well because of that and I can imagine I’m not the only one.”
She concludes: “That’s why I invite you to come to the bar this afternoon at 4:30 PM to talk and encourage each other. Bravely move forward. Warm regards, also on behalf of Suzanne, Lonneke van der Zee.”

Whining party
It is not known which stars will be present at the sad BNNVARA meeting. It is obvious that Tim Hofman will be present, but Khalid Kasem and Sophie Hilbrand will also make an appearance. Insiders are seriously concerned about their situation now that the right has achieved such a victory.
For example, Marcel van Roosmalen, a direct colleague of Khalid and Sophie, is very concerned. “I’m really looking forward to Khalid & Sophie tonight. What kind of whining that must be…” he says in the podcast Another Day.
Aftercare
Gijs Groenteman also sympathizes with his BNNVARA colleagues. “Yes, maybe they should add someone from aftercare or something.”
Marcel: “Yes, or a telephone number at the top of the screen.”
Gijs: “Yes, but also for Khalid and Sophie themselves, that they receive a little help and support. They didn’t expect this.”
Marcel: “I assume that Sophie will be on a ventilator for a while at least.”
And what about Raoul Heertje? “It’s completely empty. And with a bit of luck, Dolf Jansen will still be at the table and Sahil or what’s his name (Sahil Amar Aïssa, ed.). That will also be added.”
