In the second quarter, the BMW Group delivered more than twice as many electric vehicles as in the same period last year.
In contrast to the first three months, total sales also increased again. 626,726 BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce vehicles were sold – 11.3 percent more than in the second quarter of 2022, as the automaker announced in Munich. 553,369 cars carried the BMW emblem, an increase of 11.5 percent.
88,289 all-electric vehicles (BEV) from the BMW and Mini brands were delivered in the period mentioned. This corresponds to an increase of 117.5 percent. For the BMW brand alone, BEV growth even amounted to 150.7 percent. “The strong sales development overall and especially for our all-electric vehicles shows that we are on the market with the right products at the right time,” said Pieter Nota, Chief Sales Officer. He announced that he would continue the ramp-up of electromobility “at high speed” in the second half of the year.
Sales growth was achieved in all regions in the second quarter, with China showing the clearest increase at 16.2 percent, followed by the USA with a plus of 13.7 percent and Europe with a plus of 9.0 percent.
The BMW share is listed in XETRA trading at times 0.48 percent lower at 107.50 euros.
