American actress Blythe Danner, 79, revealed that she suffered from salivary gland cancer. The cancer is now in remission. Her husband Bruce Paltrow died in 2002 of the same disease.
Salivary gland cancer is rare. Emmy winner Danner said he noticed the first symptoms when he was working in London.
– I started to feel dizzy and kept forgetting things. Then I felt a pat on the back of my neck, exactly where Bruce had it, Danner recalls For People magazine.
Danner received an official diagnosis in March 2018. He hid the information for a long time, even from his children. Danner is the mother of Hollywood star Gwyneth Paltrow. He also has another child, who works as a film director Jake Paltrow.

– Cancer affects everyone in some way, but it is rare for a couple to have the same cancer. I remember looking up at the sky and asking Bruce if he was lonely up there, Danner says.
Danner’s treatment period included several surgeries, but he knew how to deal with the situation calmly.
– I wasn’t shaking in my boots, because I’m not afraid of death at all. Salivary gland cancer is an insidious disease. However, I am completely fine now. I’m lucky to be alive, Danner continued.
