Blur celebrates the Great Escape with vinyl new edition, photo book and rare songs for 30 years.
Blur has something to celebrate. The band celebrates the 30th anniversary of their fourth album The Great Escape. And how do you get the party? With an extended new vinyl edition of the LP.
Recommendations of the editorial team
The album around Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Alex James and Dave Rowntree originally appeared on September 11, 1995 as the successor to the international breakthrough success Parklife (1994) and contains hits such as “Country House”, “The Universal”, “Stereotypes” and “Charmless Man”. Reason enough to revive the work again in a new way. Here are all information about it.
Jubilee vinyl will be released in December as a limited collector’s edition
The anniversary edition will come out on December 12, 2025 via Parlophone as Half Speed Masted Double-Disc Colored Vinyl Edition. Disc 1 contains the 15-track standard album on yellow vinyl, disc 2 rare B-pages and bonus tracks from the era at that time on turquoise vinyl, some of them published for the first time on vinyl. Both slices are in a gatefold cover with new artwork by artist and designer Tony Hung.

Photo book by Dave Rowntree documents the early years of Blur
At the same time, Drummer Dave Rowntree publishes the photo book “No One You Know: Dave Rowntree’s Early Blur Photos”. The work, which comprises over 200 pages, will be released on September 9th with Hero Publishing and was editorially looked after by journalist and author Miranda Sawyer.
Rowntree photographed the band during the early years: “When the band worked, I worked. The photos show us when traveling, before and after shows, just four boys in the 20s who were enthusiastic about everything,” said Rowntree in an interview with “NME” in May 2025. In this way it offers intimate insights into the beginnings of the Britrock band.
