The Austrian sporting goods retailer Blue Tomato GmbH is further expanding its presence in Norway. On Wednesday, the board sports specialist from Schladming, which has been running a store in the capital Oslo since the end of last year, announced the opening of its second branch in the country. Last week, the company moved into premises with an area of 325 square meters on the centrally located Munkegata in Trondheim. A third store in Norway will open “soon” in the city of Bergen, Blue Tomato said.

Tara Kritsch, Retail Expansion Manager at Blue Tomato, explained the choice of location: “With its location, Trondheim represents the center of retail in Central Norway and is surrounded by winter sports resorts. Bergen is Norway’s second largest city with a huge catchment area and is therefore a logical next step in our expansion,” she said in a statement. In addition, Kritsch announced the opening of another branch in Finland. “Here we chose Rovaniemi, the last ‘big’ town and also the last place to shop before we go to Lapland, which also has numerous ski areas,” she explained.

In total, Blue Tomato now has more than seventy stores in seven countries. In addition to Norway and Finland, the retailer also has its own stores in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Sweden.
