TOThe number of most beautiful and cleanest beaches in Italy: 14 new seaside and lake resorts have obtained the Blue Flag 2022.
Here are which beaches, coastal municipalities and tourist landings have obtained recognition thanks to better waters, respect for the environment and the quality services they offer.
Blue Flags 2022, are still increasing
I’m 210 municipalities awarded for some stretches of its coasts, to which they are added 82 tourist ports. The beaches overall rise to 427 and correspond, as last year, to about 10% of the awarded beaches worldwide.
Liguria at the top
There Liguria confirms 32 locations, the Campania has a new entrance, Hispani and two exits and the Tuscany marks an entrance, Pietrasanta. And still there Puglia he takes home three new entrances, Castro, Rodi Garganico and Ugento, but also two exits.
For the Calabria there are 17 awards, with two new entries: Caulonia and Isola di Capo Rizzuto. The Marche rise to 17, with a new entrance, Porto Recanati and the Sardinia reaches 15 locations with the new entrance of Budoni. TheAbruzzothere are 14 locations for the Region, with Alba Adriatica being added as a new entrance.
Entries, exits and re-confirmations
There Sicily goes to 11 with a new entry, Furci Siculo, the Lazio drops to 10 with the elimination of Ventotene. The Trentino Alto Adige remains at 10 flags, while theEmilia sees 9 locations awarded with two new arrivals, Riccione and San Mauro Pascoli. The 9 flags of the Veneto5 o’clock of the Basilicata and 2 o’clock on Friuli Venezia Giulia.
New entrance for the Piedmont that with Cannobio on Lake Maggiore obtains 3 flags. The Molise it remains with only one flag like the Lombardy.
Blue Flags 2022, a new parameter: social commitment and inclusiveness
For the 36th edition of the award, the inclusion of a new important parameter has also been envisaged. It is about social commitment and inclusiveness an increasingly fundamental aspect, which is added to the more than 30 evaluation criteria of this prestigious award.
With this in mind, the Dynamo Camp Foundationwhich offers free recreational therapy programs targeting chronically ill children and adolescents, healthy siblings and their families.
How the selection takes place
The evaluation begins with the presentation to the Fee, the Foundation for Environmental Educationby the Municipalities of results on their own bathing waters based on the results of the analyzes carried out by the regional environmental protection agencies over the last four years.
This allows the national jury, after a first screening of the international jury, to select the different areas. To these data then another 32 parameters are added which concern the actions implemented by the administrations to protect the environment and promote sustainable tourism.
