Blauw-Wit won the derby against Groen Geel in the Korfball League in front of its own audience. After an hour of play the scoreboard read 20-13. The duel had two faces. Blauw-Wit completely outclassed the visitors in the first half, but after half-time the match turned dramatically. Yet the points remained in Amsterdam.
Groen Geel is having a difficult season. And that was noticeable in the opening phase. The young team from Wormer played very sloppily and saw Blauw-Wit score one point after another. Halfway through the first half, the home team led 10-0 in the atmospheric Blauw-Withal.
Two faces
Both teams went to the changing rooms halfway with a 16-4 halftime score in favor of the Amsterdam team. After halftime the match turned completely around. Only after ten minutes of korfball in the second half did Blauw-Wit score for the first time. And Groen Geel played much more concentrated and sharper.

The visitors from Wormer came back to a difference of five points, but that was it. Final score: 20-13.
Stand
The win keeps Blauw-Wit sixth in the rankings and coach Barry Schep’s team no longer has to worry about relegation. This does apply to Green Yellow. The team of trainer Mady Tims is ninth. And that means play-offs, but the season still lasts six games.

The other North Holland korfball club Koog Zaandijk won at home against bottom KCC with 26-19. KZ is doing excellently this season and is in second place after twelve games. The first four teams qualify for the play-offs.
