These are busy times for politicians these days during election times. They rush from one interview to the next debate or TV appearance. As a result, they do not always have everything in focus. This also applied to BBB leader Caroline van der Plas prior to the Debate of the South on Saturday evening in the Evoluon in Eindhoven. Just before she enters the arena together with six fellow party leaders, she mistakes Rob Jetten of D66 for an employee of Geert Wilders of the PVV.
Jetten reacts sportily and immediately offers Van der Plas a way out. “It’s a bit dark here,” he laughs when Van der Plas congratulates him on his new job. Wilders also has to laugh heartily at his colleague’s mistake.
Still a moment of relaxation for the three political matadors, just before the start of the debate.
