Bloodless draw Telstar visits Jong FC Utrecht

In a cold and wet Utrecht, Telstar drew 0-0 against Jong FC Utrecht. It was a very poor match at Sportpark Zoudenbalch with hardly any chances.

In the initial phase of the match there were still some chances, but the level of the match soon dropped. There were not many clear-cut opportunities. Mohammed Tahiri took aim at goalkeeper Calvin Raatsie from a distance and in the second half the best opportunity was for Tim van de Loo, who curled the ball just past the wrong post.

It was already known in advance that both teams will find it difficult to score this season. Jong FC Utrecht only scored fifteen times this season and Telstar scored eighteen goals.

Nothing to do

After three months of injuries, Ronald Koeman Jr. started under the bar at Telstar. This meant that Joey Houweling had to take a seat on the reserve bench. Koeman had little to nothing to do the entire match.

In the 83rd minute, Jorginho Soares received his second yellow card for a foul in midfield and the team of birthday coach Mike Snoei had to continue with ten men. Things almost went wrong for Telstar in injury time, but Koeman managed to prevent an unnecessary defeat during a scrimmage. And so the match ended as it began.

Telstar will visit FC Groningen on Friday. That match can be heard live on NH Sport.
