The Rings Gala in Beverwijk was attended by around 1,300 spectators last Saturday. The people saw a spectacular gala with some bloody parties.
NH Sport followed Frank den Hartog from Amsterdam and Gaby van den Elzen from Beverwijk. Frank den Hartog goes by the name ‘Frank the tank’. “He doesn’t know the word ‘step back’,” trainer Rik van de Vathorst explains the nickname.
The Amsterdammer competed against Tico van Maren.
Local hero
Kickboxing star Gaby van den Elzen competed against Demi Mesman. For Van den Elzen it was a home match that she was really looking forward to. “I have trained so hard for this competition. It makes me completely silent when I think about it,” said Van den Elzen.
