Beach club Bloomingdale in Bloemendaal aan Zee was completely destroyed by a large fire last night. For more than 20 years, the popular beach bar was located on the Bloemendaal beach. A popular place to chill and party. But over the years, those parties got out of hand a number of times.
Bloomingdale and other beach bars on Bloemendaal beach have been known for years for their great parties. Only those parties have derailed more and more in recent years. Brawls
On April 13, 2014, a party on the Bloemendaal beach ends in a big brawl. “People were walking through each other’s VIP areas, not the designated aisles,” said one shocked partygoer that night. Two men get into a fight, resulting in a massive brawl, vodka bottles flying around and furniture being used as a battering ram.
A year later, on April 19, 2015, things go wrong again. A boy wakes up after a party knocked unconscious. He is treated by the ambulance on the beach and can then go home. Since no one wants to press charges, anyone can go.
ME intervenes
In 2017, the police had to intervene on the beach a number of times. On May 28, the Mobile Unit (ME) tries to clear the beach because there is way too many people being on the Bloemendaal beach. It is heavy handed. It is suggested on Facebook that more tickets have been sold for a festival than there are places. Some visitors refuse to leave and that leads to riots on the beach. The police arrest ten people.
On September 3 of that year two boys attacked by a group when they are in the parking lot at the Zeeweg after a party. They suffer serious injuries. The police are quick to act and manage to arrest two people.

On April 8, 2018, there will also be a lot of partying on the beach. At 22.20 that evening, the police receive a report: shots were allegedly fired in a beach bar. Police are not sure if shots were actually fired. An hour later, there will be one 26-year-old Amsterdammer stabbed at the beach entrance and is seriously injured. The police arrested a 24-year-old man from Almere.
