Our family is divided when it comes to visiting steak houses.
Husband and son want to go there because they can get a decent piece of meat there. I like the steak too, but I’m out of my mind when it comes to the ambience – it’s also a feast for the eyes.
I also don’t like the type of uniform service, although the waiters in the Blockhouse are always friendly and bring everything quickly and reliably. It’s that leftover fast food that bothers me.
But now we’re sitting on the almost completely occupied terrace in Zehlendorf Mitte – must have a reason – and ordering. As always, when there is one, the husband eats an onion soup (6.80 euros) and the rest has to wait until the main course comes.
No problem, the side salad with the steak is also served in advance. The French dressing is a classic here and so delicious that I have to spoon out the bowl afterwards.
Then comes the Mrs. Rumpsteak (180 gr., 21.90 euros) for me and Mr. Rumpsteak (250 gr., 28.30 euros). In addition, the obligatory baked potato with sour cream and herb butter. The meat is perfectly grilled, there is enough sour cream available, not a matter of course.
And so we all clean the plates and unanimously state that my prejudices are not appropriate here.
