“Blind Faith” by Blind Faith: Supergroup, but not a super album

Actually, there is nothing to complain about here: On the record you can hear fat blues rock, heavy and sometimes drifting into psychedelic spheres, completely in line with the fashion of the time and certainly no worse than the competition.

But not better either. This is exactly what they had promised after the paper form, because Blind Faith is after all the first cast supergroup, composed of the master craftsmen of the guild.

Eric Clapton and Ginger Baker came from Cream, and Steve Winwood came from Traffic. Family bassist Rick Grech filled the ranks. An alliance of convenience that at least lasted this one album.

Blind Faith live 1969

Incidentally, Blind Faith played live together for the first time on June 7th, 1969, more than 50 years ago, in London’s Hyde Park at a free open-air concert in front of almost 100,000 spectators.

The scandal cover

An 11-year-old without a shirt. The girl Mariora Goschen later said she had been promised a horse for the recording. The album came out with an alternative cover, which featured the band.
