Blankenbergse pier ready two (2!) years earlier

At the start of the works in October 2021, mayor Prasse van Blankenberge said it this way: “The intention is to be completely ready by 2025 and then be able to see and walk on a brand new pier.”

During the works they are building a concrete bench about thirty meters long, on the widened central square of the walking path. Apart from that, additional benches will be added and the abutment will be painted against concrete rot. But those works are going faster than expected. As a walker you will be able to walk onto the pier again, possibly as early as April. There will even be an official opening in June. (continue reading below the photo)
