Black Mirror announces the cast of Season 6

The final season of Charlie Brooker and Annabel Jones’ sci-fi series Black Mirror will reportedly have a larger cinematic scope and contain more episodes than the previous season – the exact number has not yet been announced by Netflix. Now the cast for the final season has been determined.

The new cast

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Aaron Paul, Josh Hartnett, Kate Mara, Zazie Beetz, Paapa Essiedu, Danny Ramirez, Clara Rugaard, Auden Thornton and Anjana Vasan will star in the new episodes. Netflix confirmed this cast for the time being for the first three episodes.

Just like the previous casts, the next one is also influenced by celebrities: Aaron Paul is best known for his role as Jesse Pinkman in “Breaking Bad”. Josh Hartnett starred in Penny Dreadful and Kate Mara was the protagonist in the Netflix series House of Cards. Zazie Beetz is best known for her roles in the FX series Atlanta and Joker, and Paapa Essiedu for his roles in I May Destroy You, The Lazarus Project and Gangs Of London.

Season 6 aims to “make you laugh”

The current season of “Black Mirror” was released in 2019, shortly before the start of the corona pandemic. At this point, the continuation of the series was still unclear. Producer Charlie Brooker didn’t realize the relevance “of stories about societies falling apart.” For this reason, she wants to rather “revive her comedic skills” and write screenplays that “make her laugh”. With production still in the wings for Season 6, Netflix hasn’t announced a release date yet.
